Commissioned by the AFPDB, this study provides an objective view of the market and rests on a rigorous cross-referenced methodology combining quantitative analysis with interviews of industry experts.

Key points:

  • Sample: 1,566 products analysed, issued during 2024 (representing approximately EUR 9.68 billion issued, or 14% of French issuance)
  • Costs: the average annualised cost (calculated over the “probable economic life”), across all categories, ranges from 0.27% to 1.53%
  • A detailed analysis of cost structure: a distinction between total costs and annualised costs based on the “probable economic life”
  • Sector benchmarking: a comparison of the annualised costs of structured products with those of other asset classes
  • The concept of “Value for Money”: a demonstration that cost is a necessary but insufficient indicator of real value, which depends on capital protection and the net performance of the structured product

This document aims to contribute to the dialogue on structured products and the transparency of their costs.
